Standing Tall!

I was so impressed with the leadership session yesterday.  Kent was a great speaker and interacted very well with the audience.  For me, one of the best parts was the focus around the state of Wyoming.    I'm proud we are traveling around the country to show others just what we are all about.  If help is needed with this project, I'm willing to get involved.  I was born and raised as an athlete in Wyoming but ventured across the region during college. I came back to Cheyenne because of Wyoming's Code of Ethics. The PowerPoint presentation was so engaging, it made everyone want to get out and do some good.  Great class and I was very privileged to attend.

I am one of those people that would say I have a code of ethics, but I've never taken the time to define it by writing it down. It was a challenging exercise - it took me a couple of days to really do some self-reflection. I have my code posted in my office, which will be a source of accountability to me. I hope that people ask me about it so that I can share what I learned.

Going into the afternoon program, I didn't understand that it would challenge me to change some things in my life.  It would push me to "stand tall" in some areas that I struggle, and to be vigilant in living my beliefs and values.  Kent did a great job in moving the class through the concepts and encouraging us to be thoughtful in the hard work of writing and living "our code".  I am excited about making it work in my life, and in sharing it with others. I Finished My Code!!!

Although it took quite some time, I am proud to say that I’ve finished my personal code and I cannot wait to carry out and uphold my code each and every day!!!
